Who touched your phone?
See exactly where they tapped.
TapTrap turns a screenshot of your own home screen into a trap. Whoever picks up your phone lands on a fake screen, and every tap is silently recorded. You come back, do the secret corner gesture, and see a heatmap of what they tried to open — even if they know your passcode.
Free to try · No account · 12 languages · Nothing leaves your phone
The heatmap sits on your own screenshot. Icons here are generic.
How it works
Three steps to set it, one gesture to stop it. No account, nothing to configure.
Screenshot
Take a screenshot of your home screen and pick it in TapTrap. That screenshot becomes the fake screen.
Trap
Start the trap and put the phone down, locked or unlocked. Whoever opens it sees your normal-looking screen — and every tap is recorded.
Reveal
Come back, use the secret corner gesture, and see the heatmap of exactly where they tapped. Your own exit taps are not counted.
Works even if they know your passcode
Apps that take a selfie on a wrong PIN only catch people who fail to unlock your phone. TapTrap catches the ones who already know your code: the fake screen is waiting when they unlock, and at a glance it looks like your normal home screen.
Also a party game
Hand a friend your phone, tell them not to tap, and watch them fail. Six looks, from a plain warning to a fake terminal. It records the taps the same way.
Your taps and screenshots stay on your phone
TapTrap is a curiosity test for your own phone, built to keep your data where it already is.
- No account, no sign-in, no server of ours. There is nothing to create and nothing to log into.
- A running trap never uses the camera or the microphone. Nothing reads your messages or your keyboard. The only thing recorded is where the screen was tapped, and when.
- Your screenshot and your catches never leave the device. There is no upload, export or share button in the app — and you can delete everything from Settings.
- The only ad is one you start yourself — a short rewarded video from Google AdMob that you choose to watch for one more trap, or to open a catch. Nothing plays inside a trap, and nothing plays that you did not ask for. Purchases run through Apple or Google with RevenueCat. Neither of them receives your taps or your screenshots. Details in the Privacy Policy.
- It only works on the phone you set it up on, by hand. No remote setup, no hidden icon, no reporting to anyone. Use it on a device you own.

Questions
Does it work when my phone is locked?
Yes. Start the trap, then lock the phone or leave it open. Whoever unlocks it sees the fake screen, and their taps are recorded.
How do I stop the trap?
With the secret corner gesture the app teaches you before the trap starts: a long press in the top-left corner, or five quick taps in the same corner. Your own exit taps are removed from the record.
Can it be put on someone else's phone?
TapTrap has to be set up by hand on the phone it runs on. There is no remote setup, no hidden icon, and it reports to no one. It is meant for your own phone.
Does it identify who tapped?
No. It records tap positions on the screen and nothing about the person — no photo, no audio, no name. You see what was tapped, when, and how often.
What happens to my screenshot?
It is copied into the app's private storage on your phone and used as the fake screen and as the heatmap background. It is never uploaded, and "Reset All Data" in Settings deletes it along with every catch.
